## About

CanvasCamp was founded in 2005 by Belgian entrepreneur Frederik Hiergens. Inspired by the
historic Sibley Bell tent — originally designed in 1856 by U.S. Army officer Henry Hopkins
Sibley — and drawing on his family's roots in the Kortrijk textile industry, Frederik
adapted the Sibley Bell tent for modern recreational use.

CanvasCamp introduced several world-first innovations including the zipped-in groundsheet
