How many people are needed to set up a stretch tent?
For smaller stretch tents (up to 100m²), two people are sufficient. For larger tents, having three to five people makes setup easier and faster. Like anything, the more you do it, the quicker and better you get.
How long does it take to set up a stretch tent?
Smaller stretch tents (up to 100m²) take 45 minutes to an hour to set up. Larger models take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Experience makes a difference—practice improves speed and efficiency.
My stretch tent poles keep falling over. What can I do?
Possible causes and solutions:
- Not enough tension on the fabric: Tighten the straps or tilt side poles more to increase tension.
- Poles are too short: Use longer poles, especially in the center.
- Poles of different heights are too close together: Space them farther apart.
- Wind is lifting the fabric: Use storm straps over the tent to secure it, especially for larger or connected tents.
Can stretch tents be fully enclosed with sidewalls?
Yes, CanvasCamp's wall and door systems are easy to install, modular in design, and the perfect solution for using your stretch tent in bad weather.
What colors are available for stretch tents?
We produce Stretch Q3 tents in 9 different colors, but we only stock tents in Sand (beige) as this is by far the most popular color. Production times for all other colors range from 2 to 8 weeks.

Yes, custom-made stretch tents are available upon request. With our in-house engineering expertise, we provide technical analysis, design, and production of custom stretch structures for our clients.
What is the lifespan of a stretch tent?
The average lifespan of a Stretch Q1 tent made from lightweight 2-layer fabric is between 30 and 50 setups. - 270 g/m². If you set it up only occasionally, it will last for many years.
The average lifespan of a Stretch Q2 tent made from mid-weight 3-layer fabric is between 4 and 8 years with seasonal use. - 560 g/m².
The average lifespan of a Stretch Q3 tent made from heavy-weight 3-layer fabric is between 10 and 15 years with permanent use. - 780 g/m².

How much space is required around the tent to secure the ropes?
For a safe and stable setup of our stretch tents, at least 1.5 meters of space around the tent is required. This space is needed to properly place the anchors, secure the ropes, and create sufficient tension. Following guidelines ensures a sturdy structure and gives you peace of mind during your event.
How do I clean a stretch tent?
There are several ways to clean your stretch tent:
- With mild brown/black soap or dishwashing detergent, lukewarm water, and a soft sponge.
- For double-coated stretch tents, a pressure washer can be used. However, always maintain a minimum distance of 30 cm!
- Bring it to us for professional cleaning in a large designated washing machine.
Never use acetone, thinner, or any kind of solvent!
French homologation procedure?
Tents, tarps, and mobile structures (> 50 m²) must have a safety register issued by the prefect of the department where these structures are first installed, following approval by the relevant safety commission. In addition, they must be inspected every two years by a recognized technical inspection body (CTS). To obtain this conformity certificate, the owner must first contact a competent authority to check the stability of the structure and the fire resistance of the covering and to create a safety register with a description and photos of the structure. In summary, for the first time, you must contact the prefecture and submit all documents included with the tent.
How do I repair a stretch tent?
Small tears or holes can be repaired using a Tear Aid repair patch. Repair kits are also available upon request, which include a piece of fabric in the same color and specifications as the tent material, a small container of glue for attaching the fabric over the damaged area, and a detailed manual. If the damage is too extensive to be repaired with Tear Aid or a repair kit, the tent can be sent back to our production facility, where we will restore it.
Do you deliver wooden poles?
It is possible, but it is not always feasible since this service is not available everywhere and can be quite expensive. You have four options:
- We set up your stretch tent and bring the wooden poles along for free. .
- You request a quote and are willing to cover transport costs.
- You pick them up yourself or arrange transport from our warehouse to the delivery address.
- You purchase wooden poles from a local supplier. Our Stretch Q2 and Q3 tents come with all necessary accessories to use your own wooden pole set. The number of poles required depends on the size of your stretch tent. Perhaps you’d prefer an aluminum pole set for Stretch Q2 or Stretch Q3, which is easier to ship and store, and has a much longer lifespan (optionally with a jute sleeve for aesthetics).
Can stretch tents be connected together?
Absolutely. CanvasCamp stretch tents have a modular design, meaning multiple tents can be joined together to create larger structures.
