Although every CanvasCamp tent is fully waterproof and treated for mould and UV resistance, adding a Fly creates an additional layer of defense. Acting as a double roof, the Fly keeps rain and snow off your tent while still allowing the canvas underneath to breathe naturally.

Made from lightweight yet 70D nylon, the Fly protects your tent from organic debris such as falling leaves, sap, and bird droppings — all of which can stain and damage canvas over time. It also blocks up to 90% of harmful UV rays, slowing the natural wear of protective canvas treatments and helping your tent last for years.

Essential when camping under trees, the Fly ensures your bell tent stays clean, dry, and in excellent condition. Its lightweight, 100% waterproof fabric makes it easy to pitch, pack, and transport. And because it follows the iconic bell tent shape, you don’t lose the signature look of your tent.

For added versatility, the Nylon Fly can also be pitched on its own as a freestanding sunshade or open lounge shelter — ideal for lightweight setups when you don’t need the full Sibley Bell Tent.

The Nylon Fly is a must-have accessory for anyone who wants to protect their tent, extend its lifespan, and enjoy extra comfort in all weather conditions.

The Nylon Fly offers protection against:

  • Rain - 100% waterproof

  • 'Dirt' - keeps dead leaves, resin, bird droppings, and other debris off your tent.

  • UV radiation - protects against the harmful effects of UV radiation. This keeps the coating in the fabric longer and increases the life of the tent.

  • Insulation - warmer in winter and cooler in summer, check! The fly creates an extra layer between the tent and the outside air. This helps regulate the temperature inside the tent.

Final Touches And Features

Final Touches And Features

Extends the lifespan of your tent and keeps it looking like new.

Insulating Properties - Creates a dead-air space between the canvas and the fly, helping regulate temperature inside your tent. Keeps it cooler in hot sun and reduces heat loss in cold conditions.

UV Protection - Blocks up to 90% of harmful UV rays, preventing sun damage and slowing down the natural erosion of your canvas’s protective treatments.

Lightweight & Portable - Made from durable 70D nylon, the fly is 100% waterproof, compact, and lightweight. Packs down small into a matching carry bag for easy transport.

Standalone Shelter Option - Can be pitched on its own as a bell-tent-shaped shade or rain shelter. Use a compatible Sibley pole set and extra stakes, or repurpose your existing Sibley hardware for a lightweight lounge setup.

Wood-Burning Stove:

This type of double roof is not suitable for use with a wood-burning stove. We strongly advise against this combination, as nylon is highly flammable and can easily catch fire or sustain heat damage.

However, we understand that some customers have installed a stove jack in their Nylon Fly and are using a wood-burning stove. However, if you decide to proceed, please exercise caution and use common sense. Ensure proper ventilation, keep a fire extinguisher nearby, and have an emergency plan in place. Most importantly, only burn 100% clean and kiln-dried wood. Still, we recommend opting for a Fly All Season instead for safer use.
